Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet with Android 4.4, Snapdragon 801 launched at MWC 2014

Sony finally took the wraps off its latest premium tablet, dubbed Xperia Z2 Tablet, at MWC 2014 in Barcelona.

The Japanese manufacturer has announced that the Xperia Z2 Tablet will be globally released in March 2014, however hasn't revealed the pricing of the device. The tablet will be available in two variants: Wi-Fi and LTE/3G.

The Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet is the successor to the Xperia Tablet Z, which was launched at MWC 2013. The Xperia Z2 Tablet runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box.

The Xperia Z2 Tablet features a 10.1-inch full-HD TRILUMINOS display for mobile with Live Colour LED powered by X-Reality. The tablet also features digital noise cancelling technology and is touted to be the 'world's slimmest' tablet at 6.4mm and lightest at 426 grams.

The Xperia Z2 Tablet is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor alongside 3GB of RAM. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, DLNA, Bluetooth, and GLONASS. The tablet sports an 8.1-megapixel rear camera and also includes 2.2-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes with 16GB inbuilt storage, which is further expandable up to 64GB via microSD card.

The company has announced that Xperia Z2 Tablet will be available in Black and White colour variants. Sony also launched its Xperia Z2 smartphone at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, which features noise-cancellation technology and ultra-high-definition video recording
